The Queen Victoria Market is a huge market in Melbourne, with plenty of shops, fresh fruits, seafood, meats and other local produce. Try some Asian Street food or the famous jam donuts!
The Shrine of Remembrance is a popular tourist spot in Melbourne that has free entry. It has a fascinating war museum in its crypt.
The Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne is a wonderful place to visit. With lots of plants and fauna. A great place for locals to escape the city any time of the year. Check out some of the tours around these gardens. Nearby is the Yarra River, a great place to enjoy a BBQ or other leisure activities.
Federation Square is a popular place for people to hang out. It has some cafes and bars as well as free WiFi.
ACMI has a fantastic free film and television exhibition.
The State Library Victoria has some interesting exhibits on displace including the infamous bush-ranger Ned Kelly armour.

The Old Treasury Building has permanent and temporary exhibits on display including the biggest gold nugget found in the Victorian Gold Rush.
