FWT KHMR 2020, it’s on.

We’d be waiting, weather shopping and line dreaming. And then the email arrived. Seated on the Stairway to Heaven Chairlift sandwiched between FWT athletes, my phone delivered the good news. The Freeride World Tour got the green light for Friday, February 7th, 2020 at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Golden BC. FWT KHMR 2020, it’s go time.

FWT KHMR STOKE FORECAST

With the FWT Japan event under their belts with less than ideal snow conditions, the snowboard athletes are frothing at the current snow conditions here in Golden BC. I think it’s safe to say that the venue known as “Ozone” is going to provide a platform for redemption for some of the riders. The snow is classicly light and abundant at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the untouched face has been kept pristine in anticipation of the Freeride World Tour’s arrival.

Last year Marion Haerty and Victor De Le Rue won the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort stop, and both of these legends are back to try and snag gold again. Wildcard Craig McMorris will surely be putting some pressure on the tour “regulars” and the lesser-known Nuria Castan, a last-minute addition to the FWT will undoubtedly have some tricks up her sleeve. Michelle Locke, a local, will most likely deliver an extra dose of style as she competes on home turf.
