ALPINE DEVELOPMENT SCHOOL: a backcountry progression series

Arc’teryx and SheJumps have something to offer those looking to go further in the backcountry. Knocked off your AST1, have some experience under your belt, and wondering, how do you get further? What do you need to know to progress past simple terrain? AKA how do you to those BIG gnar lines safely? What gear do I need for that kinda mission? This is where you’ll learn it – the Alpine Development School.

Tune in this upcoming week to brush up on your backcountry skills and develop new ones before you even venture out there this season. Splitboard guide extraordinaire Christine Feleki will be on the mic and dishing the how-tos. Don’t miss it.

The Alpine Development School is a women’s lecture program created by the nonprofit SheJumps. ADS provides an overview on risk management, terrain management, and route-finding related to ski and splitboard mountaineering. From novices to seasoned backcountry users, the ADS is an opportunity to build a skill set or refresh knowledge that will help you be self-sufficient in the mountains. The ADS curriculum is drawn from the SheJumps Alpine Finishing School, an award-winning 7-day ski and splitboard mountaineering course held annually at the Selkirk Lodge in British Columbia.
